Program and Session Information

Portals are fast becoming an integral part of the educational community and institutions are at a variety of levels of implementations. Some are just beginning to formulate a plan, while others have years of maturity behind their implementation. No matter where an institution is within the process, everyone has questions and are looking for more information to help focus the vision towards their portal.

The program is built to try to maximize the opportunities for people to share information, network with others and seek the answers to questions.

Vendor representatives have been extended invitations to attend and exhibit at the conference. We did draw the line at vendor-led presentations - we encouraged the vendors to have their clients submit proposals of best practices. We didn't want presentation time taken up with sales pitches. Any sessions that appear to have a vendor leading the presentation are specific to a particular installation at a campus and the campus representative has not been announced at this time.

Different from other conferences, instead of a vendor exhibit hall, we are having a "vendor coffeehouse" where attendees can meet and see vendors in a relaxed, less competitive environment. The final morning of the conference is also scheduled to be vendor roundtables - where we provide attendees an opportunity to sit and discuss points with the different vendors.
