Call for Presentations NOW OPEN ---
The
theme for the conference, portal2010: connections, reflects
how portals connect users to data, as well as students to
offices, and offices to IT. Portals are institution-wide
in scope, and the connections made in the development, deployment
and maintenance of portals can establish collaborative relationships
that help strengthen the institution and the interworkings
of offices.
Corporate
sponsorship will be solicited in an effort to keep the registration
and operating costs to a minimum and to provide an opportunity
for institutions to talk to and get information or answers
from the portal providers. While there will be no corporate
presentations within the program, the vendors will have
visibility and availability to talk and answer questions
about their product.
Past
conference registration fees have been $100/per person for
non-profit institutions and $200/per person for for-profit
enterprises. Sponsorship of the conference includes at least
one full registration.

2008 A Huge Success
The
conference is over now, but the networking is just beginning.
More than 160 people from over 80 institutions heard the
keynote from Jim Farmer, the all-conference session by Ray
Henderson and attended 28 sessions and 3 panel discusions
- all about portals within higher education.
Feedback
from conference attendees:
"This
is the best conference I''ve ever been to. Hands down. The
volume of actually useful information I gathered was enough
to fill a 12 page report."
"I
think it was great, especially for the price."
"It
was a valuable experience for me because it was different
than the vendor conferences such as Sungard Summit. It provided
a broader view of portals, their use and future."
"It
was great and the value was amazing based on cost vs. content."
