Clicking CNAV Tools, Table Tool provides you with access to raw CNAV data as stored in table form. To obtain detailed information about a specific view, select that view from the provided drop-down list and click View Information.
On the resulting Table/View Information screen, CNAV provides the following information about each column within the view you selected in the Table Tool:
Column name: This column lists the name of each column data item included in this view.
Data type: This column lists the data type of each data item.
VarChar Length: For data items for which the data type is some form of character string, this column lists the maximum number of characters allowed.
Digits: For data items for which the data type is some form of number, this column lists the maximum number of digits allowed.
Decimals: For data items for which the data type is some form of number, this column lists the maximum number of digits allowed to the right of the decimal point.
Nullable: This column indicates whether each data item listed can be left blank.
Comments: This is the only input field provided on the column information portion of this screen. Use the comment fields to add any required or useful comments about specific data items.
The detailed view information also provides names of related indexes (as well as the names of included indexed columns) and details on view constraints. Note that constraint information includes constraint types and search conditions and lists any referenced tables and/or columns. Details (including name, type, event, action, and body) are also provided on any triggers associated with this view. The final field on this screen allows you to input a comment providing useful information about this view.
After reviewing all critical information and entering comments, if desired, you are ready to return to the Table Tool initial screen. If you have entered comments that you wish to save, click Update to return. Otherwise, click Back.
