Clicking Campus Tools, Appointment Tools, Edit Appointment Statuses allows you to perform the following tasks:
Note that because the appointment status itself is a single text string, CNAV does not provide an option to edit an existing status value. To change an existing status, you must first delete it then create a new status.
Adding a New Appointment Status
To add an appointment status, enter the following information:
Department: Select the appropriate department from the provided drop-down list. That drop-down list will contain the names of all departments for which you are authorized to create appointment status values.
Add type: Enter the name of the appointment status you wish to create. You can use up to 20 characters. Be as descriptive as possible. Some sample types might include Required appointment and Requested by student.
To clear the add status field and start over, click Reset.
To add the new appointment status, click Submit. CNAV will display a success message telling you that the new appointment status has been added. Click Back to return to the Appointment Statuses edit screen. Your new status will appear in the Current Statuses field.
Deleting an Existing Appointment Status
To delete an existing appointment status, highlight the name of the appointment status you wish to delete in the Current statuses area.
Click the Delete icon at the upper right of the Current statuses area. CNAV will ask you to confirm this deletion. Be aware that if you delete an appointment status that has already been used in an appointment, the status of that appointment will revert to "Unknown". CNAV will display a success message telling you that the appointment status has been deleted. Click Back to return to the Appointment Statuses edit screen.
Adding/Deleting Global Appointment Status Values
In addition to the appointment status values specific to your department(s), CNAV also records a list of appointment status values considered to be "global" to your institution. These types can be selected when scheduling an academic appointment for any department.
To add or remove a global appointment status, you must select Global as the Department name. Note that the ability to add and delete global appointment status values is restricted to a small number of people designated as administrators in this area. If you are unable to access this function but feel that you required access in order to perform your job, please contact your CNAV system administrator.
