On the Edit Course Materials screen, you can specify the following information for each course material (book, tape, etc.) you expect students to purchase for this class:
Title: Enter the full title of the book or other item you wish students to purchase.
Material type: Select the type of item from the provided drop-down list. Although most course materials are books, you can also ask students to purchase lab kits, audio tapes, and any other materials relevant to this course.
Author: Enter the author's full name.
Publisher: Select the publisher of this item from the provided drop-down list.
Required status: Use the provided drop-down list to indicate whether this item is required or simply recommended for this course.
ISBN: Enter the ISBN here. An ISBN is an International Standard Book Number. Every book sold has a unique ISBN. If the material you are listing is not a book, enter the UPC code instead. If you can't find a UPC code, leave this field blank.
Edition: Enter the edition of the item. If the item does not have an edition, leave this field blank.
Only buy new: Tick this flag if you wish students to purchase this material only in new form.
Order latest edition: Tick this flag if students must purchase the latest edition of this item.
Description: Use this field to provide a short, but useful, description of this item. Be sure to enter any special notes on availability or type in this field. (For example, if your course material is an audio recording, you may want to note whether cassette or CD form is required for use in class labs.)
Choose substitution: Click this link to view a list of possible substitutions in the event that this material is unavailable. Tick the checkbox of any acceptable substitutes in this list and click Submit.
After entering all desired course materials, click Submit.
To clear all entries and start again, click Reset.
