To modify an expertise topic, click Campus Tools, Experts Admin. Under Edit expert information, select Modify a specific topic.
Two steps are required to modify a specific topic:
Selecting the topic to be modified
When you select Modify a specific topic, CNAV displays the Select Topic screen.
The Select Topic screen allows you to select a topic in two ways:
Directly by name: The second half of this screen shows all expertise topics currently defined, listed in alphabetical order. To select a topic directly, simply click the Edit icon next to the name of the topic you wish to modify.
Alphabetically: If many expertise topics have been declared on your campus, the alphabetical list may become unwieldy. To speed the selection process, click the letter corresponding to the first character in the name of the topic you wish to modify. The list shown on the second half of the screen will be redisplayed and limited based on the letter you selected. From the shortened list, click the Edit icon next to the name of the topic you wish to modify.
Once you select a topic to modify, CNAV displays the Modify Topic screen.
Making the topic modifications
On the Modify Topic screen, you can do the following:
Modify the topic name and/or description: Change the name and/or description of the topic as desired.
Delete the topic: To delete the topic, tick the Delete topic checkbox.
Unlink topic from one or more categories: This section lists all the categories with which this topic is currently associated. To remove links to one or more of those categories, tick the corresponding checkboxes under Unlink topic from category.
Unlink topic from experts: This section lists all the experts for whom this topic is declared as an area of expertise. To remove this topic from one or more experts, tick the corresponding checkboxes under Unlink topic from experts.
After making all desired changes, click Submit.
To clear this form and start again, click Reset.
To return to the Select Topic screen, click Back.
