System-defined Inventory Fields

System-defined fields appear in almost every inventory. Inventory system administrators can turn off display of some of these fields by opting to "hide" them, however, these fields can never be deleted from the inventory system.

The system-defined fields are as follows:

• Model

• Serial number

• Location notes

• Internal owner

• Internal responsible person

• External owner

• External responsible person

• Maintenance contract

• Funding

• Fees

• Initial cost

• Residual value

• Purchase date

• Estimated life

• Comments

• Room

• Building

• Department

• Device subtype

• Device

• Active use

• Status

• Manufacturer

Note that the Building and Department fields use a name look-up tool also known as a dynamic list display.
