On many campuses, "digests" or weekly email updates evolved to solve the problem of users overloading the mail servers with similar messages. For example, if 67 faculty members decide to post descriptions of departmental events, campus users really don't want to read 67 separate email messages. Likewise, users have little patience with 45 requests for used books, 36 old sofas for sale, or 18 queries about local day cares. To minimize the number of these email messages, CNAV institutions can form any number of "digests" to which users submit these types of email. Digest submissions are databased and aggregated until a specified time at which the compiled message is sent out to the digest mailing list.
CNAV takes this concept a step further by allowing users to view their digests in CNAV only, keeping the clutter out of their email altogether.
To view the digests you are authorized to view, go to the My Digests channel on the My Stuff tab of My Cool Stuff.
If you are a system administrator, you also have access to the Digest Maintenance tool.
