Many events occur on a repeating basis. For example, your department might hold a departmental meeting every Friday at 3 pm. Obviously, you don't want to step through every screen in the Event Wizard over and over again to enter a semester's worth of meetings. Likewise, notices such as "Submit timesheets by noon today." also tend to be repeated. To make it easier to enter repeating events and notices, CNAV provides an event duplication tool.
To duplicate an event, you must be looking at the Event Summary screen. If you just added the event, this is the last screen that the Event Wizard displays. If you would like to duplicate an event you added earlier, go to My Place, My Alerts, My Events. Click the Information icon next to the event you wish to duplicate. On the event description screen displayed, click Edit Event. Then, use the numbered links at the bottom of the Event Wizard screen to go directly to the Event Summary screen. (Again, this is always the last screen in the Event Wizard.)
The Event Summary screen provides two buttons that will duplicate an event:
If the only thing you want to be different about the "duplicated" event is the date, time, location, or description, click the Duplicate button. If you also want to change other items (like the owner or editor, the digest text, the calendar selection, etc.), you need to click Wizard Duplicate.
