My Mail

Clicking My Place, My Messages, My Mail gives you access to a full-featured roaming email system that allows campus users to access their incoming mailboxes using CNAV while they are away from their personal computers or in a public lab. This tool will work anywhere you can access the Internet through a browser. (You can use this to check your campus mail while you are at home over breaks or even while spending a year abroad.)

If you use My Mail to check your email, you should NOT have Eudora or Netscape Mail running in your machine - weird problems can result if you do.

The first time that you access My Mail, you will be asked to register the following information:

Default values are set for all fields except the password. However, read the messages shown on your screen carefully to ensure that you have selected the correct mail (POP/IMAP) server. After verifying that all fields are correct and entering your password, click Register.

The subsequent screen displayed will list your Personality, Login, Email password, and POP/IMAP Server. Click Log In to complete the login process. After the first time you use My Mail, you will see only the login screen that begins with the Personality field.

Your "Personality" is the combination of your login name, password, and POP/IMAP server. Each email account that you register with My Mail has its own personality. Because you can access more than one email account using My Mail, you may in fact have more than one personality.
