What is a Scrapbook?

A scrapbook is a concept that is used by the Portfolio Generator in CNAV.  Basically, a CNAV scrapbook is a place (like a physical scrapbook) where the student can assemble information that she plans to use later in one or more portfolios.

When a student assembles a scrapbook, she can add some or all journal entries as well as planner contents.  She can include her journal entries, planner entries, and even the contents of the Student Input Forms (My Goals, My Academic Direction, My Values, etc.) she entered previously.  Because CNAV Portfolios can include information from all areas of CNAV, student portfolios will reflect co-curricular activities as well as the expected course listings, providing a more complete picture of the student's accomplishments.

Although we often talk about the scrapbook, it is often useful for students to have several scrapbooks. For example, a section for recording Work Experience is likely to reappear on most Portfolio Outlines.  If the student stores all of her work experience information in a single scrapbook, she can then use that scrapbook as input with any Portfolio Outline that requests that information.
