Clicking CNAV Tools, Maintenance, Calendar Maintenance, Calendar Type Maintenance allows you to perform the following tasks:
The calendar types that you maintain with this tool are the types that will display when you are asked to select a Calendar type during the process of adding an event.
To add a new calendar type, click Add. CNAV displays the Calendar Maintenance screen. On that screen, enter the following information:
Code: Enter an abbreviated code to represent the new calendar. You can use up to 10 alphanumeric characters. Example: ATH for the Athletics Calendar. This is a required field. Note that once you enter this field, you cannot change it. However, you can change the values entered in any other field on this screen.
Description: Enter a short, but useful, description of the new type of calendar being added. This is a required field.
Approval required? Use this field to indicate whether or not this new calendar will be assigned a gatekeeper. The gatekeeper, also called the Calendar Approval Group, will be responsible for individually approving new entries before those entries are added to this calendar within CNAV. When approval is required, a short delay will exist between when users add calendar entries and when those entries are approved and actually display on the calendar or within the events system.
Room approval required? Use this field to indicate whether a room approval group will also be associated with this calendar.
After entering all required fields, click Submit. Once you add a new calendar type, you need to add the calendar and room approval groups, if desired. If you selected Yes for these fields, an Add link will appear in the relevant columns. Click Add to access the Chooser and add the desired groups.
Modifying an existing calendar type
To modify an existing calendar type, click the Edit icon on the table line corresponding to the calendar type you wish to modify. Note that you cannot modify the Reason code used as the calendar name abbreviation. However, you can change the contents of the following fields:
Description: Enter a short, but useful, description of this calendar type. This is a required field.

After making all desired changes, click Update.
Deleting an existing calendar type
To delete an existing calendar type, simply click the Delete icon on the table line corresponding to the calendar type you wish to delete.
