Clicking CNAV Tools, Defaults, Channel Display Defaults allows you perform two tasks:
View the default channel display settings for the Cool Stuff screen and the Alumni-specific screens for My Alumni Club and My Class
Change the default channel display settings for the Cool Stuff screen
For each channel listed, three items display for each user realm defined at your CNAV installation:
N/A checkbox: Tick this checkbox if the channel does not apply to the realm in question.
On/Off option buttons: Tick one of these option buttons to either display (On) or suppress display (Off) of this channel for each user realm. Unless this setting is Locked, users can subsequently turn display of this channel on or off to suit their personal preferences.
Lock checkbox: Tick this checkbox to lock the On or Off setting selected above. When the setting is locked, users can not override the default display setting. Note that Alumni-related channels are locked by the Alumni Channel Editor provided in the Alumni Tools located on the Campus Tools menu. Therefore, the Lock checkbox does not display on the alumni-related channels. Instead, CNAV displays the phrase System lock.
Note that a column will appear for each user realm currently defined at your CNAV installation. For a description of any user realm listed, click on the hyperlinked realm name in the table heading. The definitions shown in the pop-up windows that display are actually entered using the Group tools. To add a definition for realm, select CNAV Tools, Groups, GATL, Realm and System Groups. Then, click the Edit icon next to the name of the user realm you wish to add a definition for. Type the definition (as you wish it to appear) in the Group Description field. Be sure to input only text in this field; any HTML or other formatting codes that you enter will be output as is (not executed) in the realm definition window.
