To ensure that submitted timesheets fall within preset ranges, you can specify two types of limits on any timesheet type:
The maximum number of hours worked
The maximum dollar amount earned
You can even set these limits within specified dates to further limit valid entries. (For example, you might limit users of this type of timesheet to no more than 120 hours a semester by entering the Start date and End date of the semester then setting Max hours to 120.)
To set limits for a specific timesheet type, click the View icon in the Limits field on the Edit Timesheet Types or New Timesheet Type screen. CNAV displays the Timesheet Limits screen. On this screen, enter or modify the following information:
Start date: Enter the date on which the limit specified is to begin.
End date: Enter the date on which the limit specified is to end.
Max dollars: Enter the maximum number of dollars allowed to be earned on timesheets of this type.
Max hours: Enter the maximum number of hours allowed to be entered on timesheets of this type.
Limit controller: Specify the person or group of people allowed to modify the timesheet limits. (Usually, the limit controller is someone within the Payroll Office.)
To delete an existing limit, simply click the Delete button at the bottom of this screen.
To clear this form and start again, click Reset.
After making all desired changes, click Submit. CNAV redisplays the Edit Timesheet Types or New Timesheet Type screen.
