Viewing the Existing Form Elements
For each form element listed, CNAV provides the following information:
Type: This column lists the data type of the form input field defined by this form element. For example, a form input field requiring an essay answer would be listed as TextArea.
Edit/Delete: This column provides Edit and Delete icons that allow you to modify or remove individual form elements from this form.
Name: This column displays the text that will appear directly above the form input field being defined by this form element. In most cases, this consists of the instructions that tell the taker what to enter into the associated field. For example, if the form element defines an essay field to hold the student's current academic goals, the name might be "Describe your current academic goals:".
Display text: This column contains the explanatory text that will appear to the right of the form input field being defined by this form element. For our sample "academic goals" element, the display text might be something like this: "Many students fail to appreciate the importance of proper planning to reaching goals. The first step in realizing your academic goals is to clearly define them."
Order: This column defines the order in which this field will appear in the form display. You can use this column to reorder fields.
Default value: This column contains the default value for each form element, where defined. (Many form elements do not have a default value. Therefore, this column is often blank.)
Last modified by: This column lists the name of the person or group who last modified each form element and the date of that modification. To obtain more information about any person listed in this column, click on the hyperlinked name to display that person's CNAV ID screen.
Editing an Existing Form Element

The possible types are Text, TextArea, Date, Number, Picklist (drop-down style), Picklist radio, Yes/No (checkbox style), and Yes/No radio. Once you select a type, CNAV will redisplay the Form Elements screen, showing the new element on the last line of the table and listing the Description and Narrative as None.
