Occasionally, a news item may need to be repeated. For example, your department might sponsor a special dinner once or twice a semester for which you want to post a news article. Obviously, you don't want to step through every screen in the News Wizard over and over again to enter a year's worth of dinners. To make it easier to enter repeating news items, CNAV provides a news duplication tool.
To duplicate a news item, you must be looking at the News Summary screen. If you just added the news item, this is the last screen that the News Wizard displays. If you would like to duplicate a news item you added earlier, use Find It Now, News to locate the news item. Click the Information icon next to the news item you wish to duplicate. On the news description screen displayed, click Edit News. Then, use the numbered links at the bottom of the News Wizard screen to go directly to the News Summary screen. (Again, this is always the last screen in the News Wizard.)
The News Summary screen provides two buttons that will duplicate an event:
If the only thing you want to be different about the "duplicated" news is the start or end times, headline, or description, click the Duplicate button. If you also want to change other items (like the owner or editor, the digest text, the news desk selection, etc.), you need to click Wizard Duplicate.
