Heart Beats

Clicking CNAV Tools, Heart Beats allows you to access the Heart Beat Tools.

The CNAV Heart Beat is a concept similar to that found on many CPUs. Those CPUs employ a series of LEDs that let the user know that the CPU is running fine. If the LEDs aren't moving, the user knows that there is a problem. The CNAV Heart Beat is slightly more elegant, providing two to three short lines that identify the object being checked and report its current status. To make this an "at a glance tool," status icons are limited to green, yellow, and red lights. A green light indicates that the object is running fine; a yellow light reports fair performance and indicates potential problems to follow; a red light tells the user that this object requires attention. A red light will display when an object is inaccessible (e.g., when a processing engine is down, the database is off-line, or the disk is full). A yellow light is used to warn users of impending problems; for example, that the disk is 95 percent full.
