Clicking Campus Tools, Helpdesk, System Administrator Tools Duplicate Helpdesk allows you to duplicate the current helpdesk instance. CNAV will display the name of the current helpdesk as part of the menu option:
Duplicate current-helpdesk-name Helpdesk
Duplicating a helpdesk creates an exact copy of the structure of the current helpdesk simply having a different name. Note that ONLY the helpdesk structure is copied, not the helpdesk contents. The end result is an EMPTY helpdesk having the same properties as the helpdesk you copied.
When you duplicate the current helpdesk, you must specify two items:
New name: Enter the new name to be assigned to the "copy" of this helpdesk.
Helpdesk at: Select the institution for which you are creating this helpdesk from the provided drop-down list.
Click Submit. CNAV will display the Helpdesk Properties screen. Define the properties (and Administrator group) as you would if you were creating a new helpdesk.
Note that use of the duplicate tool is restricted to helpdesk system administrators. If you are unable to access this tool but feel that you need access in order to perform your job, please contact your CNAV system administrator.
